TEAM OPTIONS

Competition Teams

Competitive Rec is very similar to All-Star Cheerleading; however, it is typically more community focused and offers athletes who might have other interest to be on a competitive team while also doing other school-based activities. One common misunderstanding is that there is a talent difference between Competitive Rec cheerleading and All-Star cheerleading, this simply is not true. In fact, far more college cheerleaders come from a Competitive Rec background than All-Star. Here at LeaderCheer we are very proud of the fact that many of our athletes have gone on to cheer in college and beyond.

Each year is a little different depending on the athletes participating in our gym; however, typically we will have 4+ competition teams. Having the ability to field this many teams enables us to structure teams in a way that our athletes will have a team option no matter where their skill level is. Being part of a competition team is a great learning experience which will help teach teamwork, dedication, hard work and how to succeed at any challenge we have in life.

The Mini's Team

Our Mini's team is an introduction to competition. For our Mini's they attend a reduced competition schedule where they get to perform in front of judges and an audiance; however, they do not receive scorecards or have placements based on those scores. This is a great transitional option for our younger athletes who love Cheer and want to learn and experience competition without being fully emersed into Competitive Rec.

Training Program

Our Training Program is designed as an introduction to Cheer. In this program those new to Cheer get the opportunity to learn tumbling, motions and minor stunting skills without any required travel. Our Training Program athletes do, however, get to perform in front of all of our parents during each Showcase we hold at the gym. This is a wonderful program for all new to Cheer and ready to learn what it's all about!
